    For some reason, even if you raise the waterer, shaving will always get in the water. It is a pain but there's nothing you can really do except clean it everyday.

    Only fill the resevoir up half way. The autoturner is slow so check after 1-2 hours.

    I have a Mille Fleur roo and he is definitely much more quiet than my standard breed. My roo started crowing at 4-5 months. If it is a roo, I don't think you have to worry about it breeding with yours standards. He may attempt, but I don't think you have to worry.

    If the egg hatched 1 day early then the tempt is 0.5 degree high.

    I agree that you should wait until day 7 to candel the eggs. Day 4 is kind of early to really tell.

    It is suggested 2 square foot per large fowl, so it depends on the size of your birds and available room.

    Air will definitely dry out the egss, try adding a few drops of water onto the eggs so it's easier for the chick to break the membrane.
