Hi my buff orpington has been laying successfully now for several months, and is a prolific layer. When she first started she did lay the odd egg with no shell or soft shell.
This morning i found an egg again which is weird shape, shell around one side and soft the other.....
I am worried...
Buffy is one of my pullets.
I have 4 girls, a red hampshire hybrid, Muran, Burford Brown and buffy. I got them on the 18th September and 3 of them started laying in November but not Buffy.
I was told actually because of the winter months and their age i probably would not get many eggs...
My Red Hampshire young pullet is laying double yolkers. In the last few weeks we have had 4 they are amazing to eat and HUGE lol ouch.
I have no idea why she is doing this she also lays single yolks too.
Its nice whilst it last.
Is this common I heard it was fairly unusual.
Hi I love the forum and read lots of the posts. I am knew to keeping chooks and have 4 girls for 2 months now. They are getting big no eggs yet. I let them out in the afternoon and they go to bed when the night draws in which helps me as I am disabled and chasing chooks is not a good pastime...
