We have finally finished building the addition onto our coop & were looking at purchasing some new pullets to add to it.. We have seen many advertisements for Poultry Hollow Hatchery & were wondering if anyone knows of them & if they are a good hatchery to deal with.. We don't want to do chicks...

Here is our quick build duck home... By no means a taj mahal or even a best western but it's a start for them... We just hope it'll be a safe,happy habitat for them..

The kiddie pool is exactly what we have for them.. We dug it down into the ground so it would kinda simulate a pond & also make it easier for them to get in & out of instead of having to jump up... Ours lay at all different times of the day.. Anywhere from 5 in the morning til 5 at night.. We do have two that you can set your watch by & they lay at 11 am & 5 pm... Even if they decide not to lay an egg you can be sure they will go in the coop at those times...

Our temps are freezing outside & we feel so bad for our chickens.. Is it more harmful or helpful if we give them warm water in their waterer a few times a day to help warm them up?? It's our first time raising chickens & surely our first winter... Just asking advice on how to help them get...

We usually mix oyster shell in with their scratch & throw it in the run together & the eggs we've gotten have had good hard shells & it seems like they prefer it since while their pecking at the scratch they also get the oyster shell. Works for them so works for us..

We have a coop that is 4' wide x 8' long x 5' high with a run that is 8'wide x 16' long x 5' high.. We are wanting to make it bigger by building an additional coop that will be 12' longer x 4' wide x 5' high with an additional 12' wider x 8' wide x 5'high.. Total coop will be 20' long x 4' wide...

So far we have 11 out of 19 eggs for the day... Usually get a low number on Sunday since that's the day I clean their coop & run & they like to just mess around & I guess you cold say make the coop their way... But as long as their happy we're happy...

We bought some pine wood chips for our chicken run & after I dumped it I realized it had some cedar chips mixed in with it. From what I've read about it being harmful to chickens should I get it out or since it's more pine then cedar can I just leave it? It's only in the run & not the coop...
