I was going to take her to the vet early this morning if she made it through the night but sometime between 1am and 6am she passed. She lived an adventurous free range life and was a nice bird to hang out with. She was even featured in a June chicken calender spread. R.I.P. Raz

Thanks for the advise on her not returning to her feet. I do agree with you unfortunately. I certainly don't want the bird to suffer. But don't want to kill her knowing she could of survived. I am going to give her overnight. If she can't do anything still by morning I will put her to rest.

I saw the hawk a few times last few weeks and my neighbor watched it pick up a squirrel and fly away. She said it was insane. So thats why I think hawk. I have never seen a rat out this way but with winter and everything hungry Its of course possible.
