    Is a rooster's crow really obvious?

    My little bantam is 18 weeks old and hasn't crowed. I have tried to sneak up to the hen house and listen but have only heard low throaty clucks, is he a she? This chook is very easy going and friendly. They are free range.

    Any thoughts on coloring or gender? I know silkies are tough to know on gender but any guesses would be fun. One of the three is much larger, in body and legs. These three were hatched on the same day.
