    Creating Capons

Just like chicken-tender above, I would like to know what tools to actually buy & from where. I am in Canada, so that might change my source.

ISO in Canada: Brinsea Mini II EX

Haha! I found one through Kijiji in Ontario. It was well cared for & came with all paperwork & everything but the disposable liner. It looks to be in fantastic shape and was a great deal. I think that I was very lucky.

Where to buy soldier fly larvae in Canada?

Thanks, but I am looking for something that can at least match the prices here: https://www.chubbymealworms.ca/collections/dried-calci-worms I suppose that I should have stated that initially. :hmm

We have been searching online to find some. Anywhere we look, they seem to be out of stock. Any suggestions?

    Hello from Manitoba

JJeffery, I have silkies! My broody just finished hatching a few & I have more hopefully hatching in a week or so. I have both black & blue (and by default, splash) Jersey Giant...not from Berg's...I am not a fan of hatchery birds, a beautiful blue wheaten marans roo from the now closed...

    Hello from Manitoba

I know this is a late welcome, but I am from south of Hamiota, so essentially not that far from you. I have a few heritage breeds and am currently looking for more bielefelder to add to my pair.

Chick pecked to the bone / meat

We had this happen to various birds. Some of which didn't seem to notice (not sure how) and some of which didn't look like they would recover. First, separate & clean the wound with clean, warm water. After this, you can put honey on the wound, which keeps tissues alive and disinfects them at...

Blkjak, you beat me to the question. haha So,DiamondDuck99...what is your answer? Both Blkjak & I have some hatching eggs. She has more variety, though. ;) BUT, I have to say that I am working on changing that. And another question that I like to ask...what do you have already? :)

Haha...we walk over the snow for the most part. Our lane is pushed by the tractor. The snowplow sure made a nice plume of snow as it went past on the road! I got my chicks from northeast of Neepawa. I wish that I asked more questions first. Oh well, live and learn. I have now been educating the...

Kenton area. Sorry, skidoolady, I have no extra POL. What breeds are you hoping to find? I just got some black JG chicks a week or so ago. They are presently in the dining room. :S I was told some are pure (which is what I insisted on...I wanted no crosses), but others are a cross with black...

Ended Official BYC Mini Contest #4 - Show us your talent! Create a work of art

Okay, here you go. My entry. Fully my own design. I used socks, thread, stuffing and buttons. It is a new rare landrace breed that I developed and introduced to the poultry community 2 years ago. They really don't have a standard color or comb shape. These are only 2 known to exist. It needs no...

Yes, as Blkjak said. That is what I did all summer. Blkjak...you might as well face the facts. I have seen your collection. Yes, you have an addiction. Hey, but you are in good company. ;)

Haha...it is so bad that one of our roosters is on a nest. No eggs coming forth from him yet. lol I am wondering if having him in the nest so often will kick our hens in that pen into lay mode again. They were body all summer. I really have no advice. It will be interesting to hear if anyone...

Good to hear that they got him. Awesome. Did the fox get your new JG or the older one? Since the fox got so many, is there anything that you are now on the search for?
