Just wondering if anyone else has a rooster that never, or rarely, crows? Our guy is very obviously a roo, but...no crowing. He's right out our bedroom window, so we'd hear him if he did. Anyone else have a crowless roo?

Any ideas what I could to do to fix this/get them? Thanks!
Have you successfully treated a newly-hatched chick with splayed legs? Please give me your input on our treatment protocol. I've read everything on the internet and watched a million videos and have done my best, but would love input from someone with experience.
Australorp chick hatched 11 pm...
This chick pipped about 4 hours ago and I have been watching the little beak in this window...the membrane seems still intact. Is this a cause for concern, or a normal progression?
I'm receiving shipped eggs later this week to set in my incubator. I've read mixed advice and now I want yours: I know to let the eggs rest at least 24 hours when they arrive, but after that...what? Some people say to turn off the egg turner. Do you agree? For how long? If you have hatched...
You know you have them: chicken pitchers, chicken door stops, chicken salt-and-pepper shakers...there's a great thread about horrible chicken knick-knacks, but what about the ones you really love? My butter dish (in my profile pic) is my favorite. What's yours? Pictures, please, so we can all...
I just re-read hatching 101 for the thousanth time and saw, to my chagrin, that I had missed the part that says the eggs should be touching each other in order to coordinate the hatch! I had spaced them out a bit so they'd have a place to rest without disturbing thier hatchmates. I'm on day 18...
Hi all. I went into lockdown today, and I'd read that it was a good idea to put paper towels down to handle some of the slippery stuff that happens during hatching. I'd also read that the shelf liner was a good choice because it gave better traction for the little feet. So I put some paper...
Hatch day is next week, but I live 3 hours (round trip) from the nearest farm store. I'll be making a trip there in the next couple of evenings, and I need to know what I should have on hand for hatching and the first week of brooding! I have the brooder, extra bulbs, a chick feeder and waterer...
For those of you with Brinsea mini bators, did yours come with the serial number sticker inside the dome? If so, does it hold up while hatchng? I'm setting up my new brinsea mini advance, and I see that it has a sticker up under the dome. It looks like an important sticker, but I'm worried it's...
I'm getting ready to do my first incubation in early March, and I'll be picking up the eggs and bringing them home from about 5 hours away. Any tips on how best to pack/transport them? Are they okay in just a carton? Should they be bubble wrapped? What about temperature? Obviously, I want to...
I have 3 Buff Brahma LF. They are 16 weeks old today. All three have very little comb/wattle development, are friendly but not aggressive, and would seem to be girls. However, Cleo here feathered out a little differently than the others, so she's got me worried she may surprise me by being a...
Here are my two 7 week old Buff Brahmas. I posted my other one in another thread, as he was photographed with my suspected EE roo. I'm HOPING these two are pullets. Any guesses?
