I noticed today that my silve-laced wyandotte was limping. I washed and inspected both feet, and the sore foot is a little inflamed, it seems, but I did not find any cuts or scabs or broken nails or thorns. Thoughts?
That is SOOOO awesome. I was worried. How do you tell? Also, here are a couple of pics of comb. Developed a little early compared to other chicks, but has not changed in 5+ weeks.
Oops, I somehow posted the picture without a comment. This is my SLW, Big Mama. I only have one SLW so I don't have anything to compare it to, but am hoping she is a girl? My other chicks (2 ee and 1 PBR) seem relatively easier to sex. Thanks for any input.
Wow, thank you all for responding so quickly. This is my first post on BYC and the response has exceeded my expectations. I have started putting a nightlight in the coop and I guess I expected it to start working right away. I will just be patient with my chick training. Thanks again!
Hi, we are first time backyard chicken farmers with 4 6.5 week old chickens. For the last week they have been outside full time, in their chicken run during the day and then moved to their secure nighttime enclosure coop at night. The problem is they won't go into their coop on their own...
