Welcome to the NJ thread. I am from Sparta, so not to far. Funny story...(to me at least)...I have family in Johnsonburg, and my cousin would explain where he lives by saying, "I live just after Hope, and right before Tranquility." Anyways good luck selling those little fluff butts. How...

I heard you should wait until the hen lays regular to set their eggs. Something to do with the egg size is too small for the chick. I wanted to do that with my last hatch with my blue copper marans first egg. She laid it the day I was setting eggs, so I did a quick search here. Her eggs will...

Thank you for the Hardware cloth divider idea. I thought about getting plastic bins, but I think the HW cloth will be perfect. It helps that I am building yet another coop, and I am sure I will have a little left over. This doesn't help you out, but it sure helped me, so again I thank you.

Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Many pages ago, I posted bbs chick pictures with yellow feet. They are almost mature now. The 2 pullets have white skin, but the cock bird has yellow skin. I know some will say get a new male, but if I work with what I have, what will I get? which is dominant, white or yellow skin?

I lost power once and was plugged into an older ups. By the time I got to it, it was about 90 degrees. I then used an extension cord and plugged into my car. I still had enough battery to start the car in the morning and recharged. The power came back that following night.
