    I've read on the forum that a golden laced wyandotte rooster crossed with a silver laced wyandotte hen will produce sex linked chicks. I was wondering if there is a specific name for this cross. Also, if anyone has pictures or experience with this cross I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!

    Thank you, I was thinking frostbite but wanted a second opinion. I will keep the heat lamp on during below freezing weather and see if it goes away. I hope it did not get bad enough for the tips to fall off.

    Our hens have developed this too (we have 4 hens and 2 roosters). After reading through the forums I think it's from mating, but I would love to hear other's thoughts. The easter egger in the middle below shows it the most.

    Hardware Cloth a must vs Chicken Wire?

    It sounds like I should change my chicken wire covering my windows and the space under the eaves (no soffits) to hardware cloth. Is height a factor too? Can a coon or weasel scale a 6' vertical piece of plywood?
