Hey Gang! Whatcha think of my plans and Rooster issue?

opened up my nest boxes today finally. my coop layout is such that our nest boxes are the kind you see with the outside access with the hinged roof, and i had been using it til now for storing random chicken related odds and ends. my 2 BR's have gone from a mildly red face/comb/almost...

Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

i'm not an OT (or ridgerunner obviously ), but i'm pretty sure somewhere earlier in this mountain of a thread is where i saw it discussed before. you can put the zip ties on pretty loosely, just so long as it's not loose enough to actually fall of their feet (which can mean surprisingly loose)...

Hey Gang! Whatcha think of my plans and Rooster issue?

congrats!! and tony, some of those brown one's look like they're a pretty good size, especially for chickens that just started laying. i was assuming it'd take a while for chickens to ramp up to nice sized eggs like that. just shows how ignorant i am still lol. excited for you guys!

    calling any one from missouri

like i said i looked around the web and got a couple numbers to try tomorrow but most of what i found from googling "livestock feed" and the like seemed to be the huge industrial feed giants in and around downtown KC,and pretty much everything else had pretty much no info at all other than a...
