But aren't they amazing, we had our first bird about a year ago, now were up to 24, wish I'd got them years ago. Such funny but lovely birds.

Thank you all, Loving BYC, very funny stories, getting the hang of my chickens now, my flock is upto 14, with a real mix of birds. Seramas, Dutch, Polish, and pekin hens, and my babies have just started laying in the last few days so I'm very proud of my girls.

Hi all I'm really confused, as our silkie hen?????? Has just mounted my silkie/ cross. Until now she/ he as never shown any male characteristics, has never shown any aggression towards my cockerel, and has never shown any amour to my other hens. So I don't know whether this is normal or is...

Thank you, I'm having big fun so far, I've got a beautiful Sarama cockerel, a feisty silkie, and a silkie/Sussex bantam cross, who is quite a lady. All very different characters. :)

Hi all, I'm new to BYC, and new to keeping chickens, only got 3 so far with another 4 hens on the way, ( still under heat lamp ). So will need help along the way. That's for sure.
