    Ok I jimmy rigged to coop, I hope it lasts until it drys out. I tarped the whole thing. lifted it off the gound on top of a sheet of pywood and I put an old nesting box filled with shavings in the bottom for an extra dry spot. I hope it helps.     Its STILL Raining!!!!!!!! Uggh! Oh my goodness those chicks stink to high heaven! I walked in my bathroom this morning and gagged! Its off to the hardware store this morning, they can not stay indoors! My sewing room for my business is in my garage and they will stink that up I am afraid.

    Thanks for the great ideas. I'm so frazzled after my rescue efforts. I'm just dripping wet and my wire on my coop was damaged during the rescue because I was in a hurry. I have things floating in my yard! They said on the news this is the most rainfall they have ever had in recorded history!

    I am increasing because of the economy. My chickens eat so much kitchen scraps that they are pretty much free. (they still get as much feed and oyster shell they can eat) I figure if I get a few more they will pay for their feed with the eggs I can sell.

    I don't think it made it. Its been totally still for a couple hours and is not responsive. On the bright side I have another one with a pip so maybe the humidity drop didn't ruin the hacth totally....

    *L*A*G* : if it is a little moist and has been awhile i think u could help it zip A LITTLE for how weak i picture it. Its weak and the membrane was bone dry and even with re-hydration its like leathery so I don't know if the chick can make it through that or not...

    Ahh yeah the pip is by the beak. Baby is still peep a little and let out one big peep jsut a minute ago. Theres blood on the membrane so I'm going ot let it be for an hour or so.

    Ooh goof Idea. I wil try that. There are other eggs in the bator but I think the drop killed them already, theres no movements or sound at all from them. I have a warm damp paper towel over them so that when I open the bator it won't effect their humidity as much. SIgh this is nerve racking!
