:) Feel Free to contact me by PM or e-mail about hatching eggs available to ship or chicks available for local pick up here in Southeastern Georgia.
See Pictures below for a few examples of my flocks.
I choose only the cleanest and freshest eggs available from my flock. When shipping eggs I...

I know! I love these guys!
I'm so glad you're happy with them and they are healthy.
I found one baby (looked silkie) in the bottom of the coop
when "the great birth spasm" (as my kids call it) started.
I think that one was my fault because I miscounted the days til they were due
and...
I'd say the first group is mostly Cochin,
Second I think are the Blue Silkie & Cochin crosses. Notice the white on the toes.
Third Is correct with the Sebright crosses and a White Silkie.
Yes, pure Silkie was a possibility. Remember when I asked if you wanted any other eggs
and you said yeah to...
Belle,
I was wondering how many chicks you ended up with and what colors...
I ended up letting the girls keep a bunch of eggs and now there are about
15 babies, maybe more, in their coop.
They range in color from almost solid black to all yellow fluff.
I remember when I ordered the eggs for...

Not bad here, I've got about 15 fuzzies in the bantie coop...
7 Mommas all working together to hatch and brood them.
Kinda funny how they are working together, 3 are sitting on eggs needing to be hatched
and 4 others are playing momma to the hatched ones.
All of them get up and try...

Congratulations Belle! Another fuzzybutt in the coop for you!
Geez I hope it doesnt have a fuzzy butt...
my daughter was born with a fuzzy back and it still freeks me out. (she's 13 now) LOL
Sounds like a possible parasite.
You should re post this in the "Emergencies / Diseases / Injuries and Cures" section
and include more details (age of chicken, diet, environment, etc.) and some pics would help too.

I had a couple that came to buy chicks from me last year. I asked them if they had brought a box or anything and they said "no" of course and then proceeded to tell me they were going to "just put them in the trunk" Yeah loose and in the trunk of an old sedan... I looked through my...
Not the greatest idea for transportation, but we live and learn... right?
I use dog kennels (large pet taxis) when transporting my birds here or there.
They offer good ventilation and I try to make the trips short as possible.
I hope the other hen livens up and has a good life at your place.
I had a Brahma with this problem, it was a young rooster last year. I never did figure out what was wrong with him.
He grew up just fine and still hops around my friend's house (I had too many roos then).
He is healthy and active with his mate and doesn't seem worse for ware, he's over a year...
She might just be one of those submissive chickens and won't stand up for herself.
I have this problem with one of my newest EE chicks. The others peck at her tail all the time.
I would keep her seperated and try again when she heals up (again).
Sorry about this, I know how frustrating it can be!
I just had my first time dealing with this a couple weeks ago.
From looking it up on here I learned that it will usually reoccur and that it's best to put the hen out of her misery.
I had my friend put her down and felt bad for it after.
Last week I was at the vet's for a different chicken...
Looks like it has been injured somehow, maybe pecked by others or got caught on something in a cage?
I would clean it with peroxide and apply triple antibiotic ointment or Neosporin.
Keep him separated from the others until it heals.
Other than that, he's a cutie
It's not licensed for chickens, but I have had good luck with "Wound Kote".
It is deep purple, stains clothes and skin so be careful.
It comes in an aerosol can and cost about $10.
I had a friend with a chick that looked a lot like yours with the wounds,
he made it just fine... still has a scar...
