My husband got them from a commercial chicken farm, they were too small to be sent to slaughter. Oh and one of them layed its first egg tonight. We don't know which one and it wasn't in a nesting box but outside the door to the barn/coop.
We thought they were all girls, but now beginning to wonder. One of them is much bigger than the others and seems to behave differently. We're not sure how old they are, they haven't layed any eggs yet.
