Can you tell me where to get the X-cel? I have heard about it from two separate sources now (one on here, one in person) and I am very interested as Scratch and Peck is SPENDY!!!

Thanks so much you guys! My dog is actually some kind of mini aussie mix (I think), I don't really know because she's a stray from the Humane Society. Both our dogs came from there and they're both great. She is actually in my profile pic too, when we got our first set of babies, she was...

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

It has been exactly three weeks to the day that the new girls were introduced to my original two. I am so lucky to say it has been an incredibly easy transition, and they actually seem to be getting along quite well! I am so impressed when I find them NOT hanging out in their cliques! This is a...

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Yes, they seem to be happy. I just adore the EE, she is the sweetest of all the 4 hens we have now. She is just so sweet! And I was shocked at how relatively painless the whole "re-establishing pecking order" thing was, I was expecting the worst but I think we lucked out with one of the easiest...

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

This one's for FirewifeJess They seem to be getting along swimmingly! Still a bit of pecking order going on at times, but there was never any blood shed, and they are roosting with the other ladies (seen in the background) nightly! They're also laying pretty consistently :) My husband LOVES...

One of my hobbies is saving money, so I like to share coupons with this group when I come across them. So with that, here's the latest Wilco "Chickville" coupon. For me, it's a GREAT one!

I never expected that in getting chickens, I would become part of this bigger community! And you are so sweet! I took a photo of your gals for you: They seem to be doing pretty well! Now if it would only stop raining! They're a little tentative, getting used to new surroundings, but...

Thank you so much, you have a wonderful chicken home (and human home)! It was awesome to meet you! You were so helpful, and I am so excited for your growing flock! Thelma is such a sweetie, I am actually watching both of your hens right now. I hope they like it here! They were so quiet on the...

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I am still what I would consider a "new egg" at all this chicken business. This morning, I saw my first "wet" egg! It was amazing. I got the egg while it was still "wet" and it dried in a matter of seconds. That was pretty cool, nature is amazing to me right now as laying hens are still a novelty!

I know that hens are attracked to pecking at blood, so I want to get it under control before the new hens arrive!

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of! I think it's best to get the blood situation under control before introducing the other gals. It's hard to keep an eye on them because I work away from home during the day. I check on them before and after work, as well as on my lunch break. But I am not able...

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Hi all, it's a lot slower today than it usually seems. Guess it's a great time to ask for y'all's opinions! Most of you know we lost our beautiful Ameracauna a couple weeks ago to a gruesome prolapse. At that point we had 3 hens, and now we have 2. I recently noticed that my Barred Rock has...
