    Caring for Ducklings

Thanks. I put some food out on a paper towel last night. I didn't stick around, but the food bowl appeared a little lower this morning. I'm not sure what kind of ducks they are (have another thread on it). Maybe Mallards. Maybe Black Bellied Whistling Ducks.

What kind of ducklings are these?

Thanks! I'm leaning toward keeping them, but I'll keep that in mind.

    Caring for Ducklings

Im caring for ducks that were abandoned by the mom. They seem to be doing alright, but I haven't noticed a dip in their feed level. If they're eating, it's not much. I've had them for two days. They have electrolytes in their water. Is there anything I can do to get them to eat?

What kind of ducklings are these?

Are they black bellied whistling ducks? They were found outside a busy downtown area, about to get crushed by construction vehicles or run over by a car, with no momma in sight. I'm in Texas.

Help needed with settings, incubating turkey eggs in a Brinsea Mini Advance.

It's kind of different manually turning... good luck! I sure hope mine hatch.

Breed check for 2 reds and 1 bantam.

Here are pictures of my 3 hens. I bought two "reds." Can anyone tell me what kind of reds they are? Also, is the bantam an EE?

Help needed with settings, incubating turkey eggs in a Brinsea Mini Advance.

I have 4 days left! I have been candling to check, 5 out of 6 developed. My incubator really is too small, so it's a good thing I didn't have more. This is the only time I have ever had to turn eggs. Usually I use the automatic turner, but I can't with the turkey eggs because they are too...

Help needed with settings, incubating turkey eggs in a Brinsea Mini Advance.

Hooray, my turkey eggs are here! However, I'm totally confused about the correct settings, especially the temperature. Does anyone know the correct temperature for incubating turkeys in the Brinsea Mini? Anyone have any advice on the other settings? Right now I have it set to 28 days...

Anyone have Silkies and bantam EEs or Millie Fleurs kept together?

Does anyone have issues with their Silkies playing nice? Every time I try to put my bantam babies (Millie Fleur, EE) in with my Silkies, those cute little Silkies attack them relentlessly. I have a full grown Silkie, over 3 month old Silkie, and my Millie Fleur and EE bantams are about 2 and a...

3 month old Silkie rooster (Fort Worth/Keller, Texas)

He's gone now, found a Craigslist home FINALLY. The downside to chickens in my area is that very few people have them, it can make things tricky sometimes.

    Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Second Meyer Hatchery post (Millie Fleur, Bantam Easter Egger). These hatched from the bantam hatching eggs assortment. Out of 7 eggs, one was a dud. There were 3 that tried to hatch, but just these two hatched out. I've never seen a chick so strong as that white one, it ran around and...

    Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

I ordered the minimum number of Silkies and have been slowly rehoming them, since I can't keep that many. These are my last two. The top two pictures are of my "keeper chicken." Of the whole little flock, she's the one I decided to keep. The bottom one is of my roo, which I'm currently...

3 month old Silkie rooster (Fort Worth/Keller, Texas)

I have a 3 month old Silkie rooster that originally came from the Meyer Hatchery in Ohio. He has really nice coloring and I've been trying to sell him or trade him for a few fertile chicken eggs, but have had no takers. I'd be happy to give him away to a good home.

What gender is my Buff Brahma Bantam?

Now that I'm looking at the Millie Fleur, she does look like that. I'm indifferent about the breed, just so happy that she doesn't have to be separated from her best friend. I hatched out the two chicks in my incubator and they've been raised together. Thanks for the help!
