He claims that not one got lost during the transition. I demand a recount!!
My female rhea laid her first egg today. It seems like I have been waiting forever for it! My male has already hollowed out a nest and although he is not sitting she laid it right beside the nest so it won't be long before he sits I don't think. Now the big question is, to incubate or...
One of my male rheas decided to boom for the first time this morning! Isn't it a bit early? It was pretty cool though, I'm sitting with the living room window wide open (33 degrees F!) in case he does it again!

ETA: sorry about the jumbonormous pic! BYC won't let me upload pics any more so I used photobucket for the first time, I guess I need to play with the settings!
I hatched this goose out of a "surprise" egg 3 months ago, can someone tell me what breed he/she is please? Is it too early to tell gender yet? Thanks!
I have 9 ducklings and a gosling in a 20'x 9' coop. They have constant daytime access to an outdoor run with a pool. One of the ducklings is constantly chasing the others around and pulling out their feathers and eating them. Is this a naughty habit or a protein issue? I pay extra to buy...
