    Raccoon attacked our Ducks

Its Povidone iodine, the generic for the betadine, or whatever its called. Its day five since the attack. M is getting back to normal, and is quacking and chattering again. Inca is doing great, though she probably will never quack again as I'm sure this is instinct since she cannot see. I...

    Raccoon attacked our Ducks

I Quote: Quote: (Annelise97's Mom) We have a dog run, but not secured enough around a tree, where I had to replace some tarp for winter protection. They live in a converted play house, which is completely critter proof. We lost Penelope about two weeks ago and thought the dog...

    chickens & ducks cohabiting?

My daughter brought home a duck before the chickens, and before the coop was done. Cashew (drake Rouen). They all go along great until he became hormonal. We bought a female Pekin to keep him company. We had to separate them, so the shed became the duck house and had to split the range in half...

Brand New at This Chicken Coop thing

I'm in CO and we insulated the coop. The leftovers I saved and also insulated the duck house. Hatching the Facts on Medicated Chick Starter Feeds for Layers

When we got our first set of chickens, I just bought regular feed. About a month later one of them became sick with cocci. We medicated the water first with apple cider vinegar. The feed store was closed. Alas we lost her. I gave them all duramyacin in their water for 10 days. Just to be sure...

post your chicken coop pictures here!

ahhh, you don't need crosses. My kids paint on river rocks to mark graves. We have a corner of the yard fenced off so the dogs wont dig anything up. The rocks are looking quite decorative in that area amongst the flowers. Only 1 chicken there, the rest are from fish and baby birds that didnt...
