I have 8 girls that are about 10 weeks old. Noticed the last couple days that my cuckoo maran will make a weird clucking noise. Almost sounds like a goose honking. Doesn't always do it, just every now and then. Are they like kids and as they get older the voice changes. Also noticed my SLW...
so my girls have been spending the days outside since it's been 65-70 lately. Tonight is going to get down to 45... all next week looks like highs in the 80's with lows in the mid 50's. I was going to move them out tomorrow permanently, but would it be ok to leave them out tonight, or is that...
sitting here at the computer listening to the girls chirping away.. They are 5 weeks old..I think I'm gonna miss the sounds of their chirps when the move to the coop outside. Might need to invest in a laptop with wireless and hang out with them.

I have a brooder with 8 chick. I put 2 nipple waterers in there. It's funny how they all gather around one trying to drink from it, then one decides to use the other one and they all run over to that one.

I see there are 2 basic ways to protect the run from digging predators.. bury hardware cloth a foot deep around the perimeter or use hardware cloth as a 2 foot apron around in on the ground... does one work better? just trying to figure out which way to go.. I'm thinking the apron would be...
Waiting for our chicks to arrive. I want to keep them downstairs but my wife heard the smell from one if her friends and wants me to put them in the garage. Any suggestions?
