We have never done anything to George, but I think that he hates the color red because he only floggs me when I have on red. He flogged me again today and I had on my red coat. I am not going to wear my red coat in that run anymore. George is my brother's chicken and he has never flogged him...
She was laying on the ground and panting with her mouth open (picture below). However, when I went out to the run the next day, she was fine. She is eating and drinking normally.
OMG! Ok, so I was in the pen the other day and I saw one of my hens laying on the ground panting and she was moving really slow. It scared me; I thought she was sick or something. Is that the "panting" your talking about?
Eight-month-old buff orpington rooster; non-aggressive; need to get rid of him because we have two roosters. Will trade for a hen. Local pickup only in Loganville, Georgia. If interested, comment and contact me at the email adress below.

Describe 'Bessie, the Beautiful ' here
You may wonder why I call Bessie, one of my buff orpington hens, beautiful. Just to let everyone know, I love all of my chickens, except George when he tries to flogg me. But, Bessie is the largest hen in the Buff flock and she also has the darkest face...
This is a picture of one of my buff pullets. She is not laying yet and she has the darkest face of the other hens. So judging by her face, how old do you think she is and about how long would you say she has until she lays?
