If your countys like ours with over 100 pins of birds with everone getting them from the same place and same time its also alot of luck.
Actually theres only a few pens of the meat birds. Last year I think there was 3 pens? Everyone has to order the chicks to get them at the same time from the...
I'm getting cornish rock cross chicks to show at the county fair. I've raised them once before but that was a few years ago. The chicks that look the best, and gain the most are the ones that win. So what are the top things you should do so they are healthy and gain alot, and the things you...
Havent ordered the incubator or used one of t hose. But I wouldnt buy it if I were you. You'd have a hard time keeping temp and humidity in a small cheap bator. Probably a waste of your money and time.

Welp hatchery in iowa has them, and i think ideal does too. But thats all I know of. They must be fairly rare?

Oh well I looked it in my chicken book and it says that EEs are Araucanas crossed with another breed. So I'm assuming that #7 & 6 are Araucanas then since thats one of the choices.
I hatched some of them, I got the eggs from a swap. There were white silkies and assorted bamtams. I got 6 or so from a lady who has a ton of chicks, but those are mixes. I bought 12 laying breeds from my hatchery- some I know are barred rocks. THe other ones are either Rhode Island Reds or...
There is something wrong with my one chick that has mostly hatched, so i'm assuming he is going to die. But thats not a huge suprise considering he is early. None of the other ones have pipped anything, and I havent candled. So I hope they wait till saturday/sunday and have a good hatch.
