Type before everything else...If its short leg and thick cochin like feathers and nice white lobes that;s your keeper. Comb color is last on the list.. Also does the saddles drag good?..How long is the tail?? If there to young to tell all that then its to early to judge...TM
Hi, I have blue egg Sumatra. These came from the UGA in Athens Ga. About 4 years back. They lost some of there funding because of the Economy I'm guessing. Any how I have part of the flock. These look 100% pure Sumatra and I've shown them and they do very well in the show hall. My question is...
The BB red roo after he molts out his Juvie feathers i'm sure his tail will really take off and get real long for a bantam. He's still in blood feather now...He looks like he has the best of homes...best wishes...TM.
Hate to chime in but its been more like 7 or 8 years maybe more and lots can happen between then and now. I know those birds and they just do no look like the ones David has. I see them every year when I go up there. while Jeramy is a nice guy he has other lines and most run together..I'm sure...
The people of Indonesia have been working on there birds for generations... Here in America ; We have only in the last 7 years got them here. And another importation recently. So with that said we have a little more work to do on them but are getting there..In another 2 years we will have them...
Now lets see how long you can grow the tails...You say there high percentage Onagadori so lets see if you can grow them out. No one seems to be able to grow them past 6 foot...That's about the Max. Now days...Reason be Housing and feed and lighting is key. to growing them...Good luck and I hope...
You can not call a bird Onagadori until it is proven. It is a pretty bird but it looks like a very nice longtail. Like I have said in many many post show me a bird with more than just 6-7 feet. That's about the max for longtails here in the states. David so far in the last few years is the only...
1. Why are you calling her Cemoni? 2. Did you buy her as a Cemoni?.3.Who did she come from?.4. There are only 4 or 5 people that have true Cemoni out there. She can be a Cemoni and have light skin but is a cull. Using those will make it harder to get the jet black like we need. Some times people...
True Cemoni come in various skin shades depending on several factors. Diet,Time of year, If a hen is laying. ect. My Cemoni have changed in color from time to time. Where as in tropical Indonesia where its warm all the time the color is stable. Also those birds have been breed darkest to darkest...
The price of the birds is not a problem. It's all the red tape that gets you. And you have to coordinate several Vets, county, state fee's among other things. I have a great friend there I've know for years that's been to my farm also and showed me pics of black skin birds also. He said if he had...
All I raised is pullets this year. The 1 I did raise I kept. My good friend has most of my flock because of health reasons I've been thinning down on my birds. Ohiki, and phoenix are my main focus. While I love the Cemoni I've only raise enough to keep them going. The flock is still as was when...
I have given freely a good many birds to people to try to get them out there. And not culls either. Why give? I don't need the money so people that really want them but cant afford them have a chance to raise these nice birds also.. "Carma"....I believe....TM
There really is no standard yet for the American Cemoni. Even Cemoni farms has Regular quality and best quality he calls them. If you raise enough birds you get culls..In every single breed there is. It's up to us to try to breed them as dark as possible. I've had mine going on 7 years now. Mine...
What ever she is she can still be breed to look like Cemoni. You already have the fibro so just breed a good many and cull out the pea comb and keep all the single comb ones and then start culling for color in the neck. Even in pure breed Cemoni you can get the rare birds that has a tad of color...
