There
There is a knob on the outside of the box to adjust it. In all the reading I've done, I've not found anything on placement for this particular type. Bimetal stats are supposed to last longest and be the most accurate of any of the mechanical thermostats, by the report of anyone who uses...
My homemade incubator has this exact thermostat, but my temps are fluctuating 10 degrees through the heating cycle. Any ideas? My heating source is 2 150 watt bulbs (near top and bottom) in a cabinet that is 4'high x 2' wide x 18" deep. There are several computer fans circulating the air. I...

I think my first hatch is about done. I set 14 barred rock x buff orpington eggs from my hen. 10 made it to lockdown. All ten hatched and are doing awesome! I also set 21 wheaten marans from a friend. Several were suspected to have gotten very cold prior to incubation. I left 18 in for...
I used you as leverage yesterday. I asked my hubby if I could have a house turkey, and he said absolutely not. Then I told him about you, and asked if I could MAYBE just have a house CHICKEN?! he's considering it. :)
7/10 of my hatch due today are hatched and healthy! The remaining three...
I debated leaving the four hatchlings in the incubator overnight. When I walked away (aka, unglued my eyes from the window for the first time in hours) I heard screeching. I rushed back over to investigate and one of the little buggers was swimming in the humidity water dish. Into the brooder...
Well we had 4 hatch tonight! I am broadcasting live at http://ustre.am/19TQv if anyone wants to check on them overnight. I have 18 due Thursday, and 6 more from this batch that technically aren't due until tomorrow. Feel free to check it out! I warn you though, my crazy family is filling up...
I'm the oldest of 6 kids and my two youngest sisters are 11 and 7. I set up a ustream with an old cell phone so they can watch the hatch. Focused on the barred roo x buff orp hen eggs now. 5/10 pipped so far, on day 20!

I have a third pip! And one of the marans eggs I set a day later has been rocking. Probably hears the cheep cheep of the pipped eggs and is getting in a hurry. :-)
There is peeping! And pipping! First two out the gate, numbers 15 and 11! I made paper towel wedges to prop the fat ends up just a tad, and marked the air cells to put the last side up. Both pipped exactly where I hoped they would, so that's exciting!
Do older eggs take longer to hatch in...
I HAVE INTERNAL PIPS! Day 19! It's my first time doing this, but I'm a livestock person so haven't really gotten excited so far. But oh my...I'm not sure I can handle lockdown now that it's actually here! Somebody tie my hands...
Do older eggs develop more slowly? Most of my eggs (day 17) look pretty full. I've got one with a little white down at the skinny end. It's the oldest egg in the bator...it was at 12 days when I set it.
