I am very disappointed to say that I will not be getting the Red Dorking from Dick Horstman. But I am very happy to be getting another one of his high quality breeds the Silver Penciled Rocks.

My Red Dorking chicks from Dick Horstman should arrive sometime Thursday. I am really looking forward to getting these chicks from Mr Horstman.

I just got a email from Dick Horstman letting me know that he was shooting for the week of the 15th of April to ship my Red Dorkings. I am very much looking forward to getting the Red Dorking chicks from Mr Horstman.

In the 1800's red ear-lobes was just one sign some Dorkings being outcrossed with Asiatic breeds. Another sign was a heavier bone Dorking (Color / Dark Dorkings).

White in the ear-lobes of the Dorkings is problem and has been for a long time. Red ear-lobes & white eggs don't match.

This is the English color version of the Red Dorking. The painted print is a early 1900's print from Harrison Weir.

Although this is not the American color version of the Red Dorking it is one of my favorite poultry prints.
