Where are you located? I'm in the desert too but there was a guy in the st. George, it Craig's list selling really nice coops for a good price. Make sure you put wire on the floor of the coop cause foxes will dig under and so will the mice. Coops can get pricey.
Thats funny! They really like you! Ive been bringing mine out for about 4 weeks now and they didn't start venturing off on there own till after the 2nd week. I have 4 EE out of my 12. When I first started bringing them out I would leave a box for them to go hide in if they felt uneasy, I would...
I would use 1/4'' or 1/2'' hardware mesh, instead of chicken wire. You can buy it on amazon for the best price. Snakes and mice can get through chicken wire. Mice will love your food and snakes will love your young hens. Good luck to ya.
My friend just did this successfully, she spent 2 weeks introducing them. Meaning they were around each other but couldn't actually have physical contact with each other. They were in the same area she just fenced the new ones off. Hope this helps.
I would look for lice or mites. Pick up there feathers and look to see if you see tiny bugs running around. You could also put that DE on her to see if that helps. Best of luck to you. Pretty chicken :)

Here are some newer photos of my fella. The weird thing is that hes smaller than all the other girls. Aren't roosters supposed to be bigger? They are all 7 weeks. These are my first chickens...
Below are my two girls Big Mama ( shes really heavy)and No Name yet for the other, any ideas?
