Looking for about 6 eggs to do a hatching project with my kids. Mix will include turkey, duck and maybe a chicken or two. I will be staggering their hatch and they will be kept as pets.
I don't have alot of money but will pay fair price. Thanks.
How do you feed/Water your chickens. Changed out my girls to a large ceramic bowl for water as they don't tend to get as much debris in it. Still using the small plastic feeder for there dry food, wondering if i need to upgrade.
Outside of the normal Feed, I've been given them all vegy and fruit scraps and left overs. I've heard some folks feed them regular dinner left overs. What do you feed yours? What won't you feed yours and why?
Thanks
One week and my babies are adjusting to their new home. My three are Buffy-a buff orphington and Cortana and Chicken Nugget, both gold sex links. They have a homemade brooder on my bathroom counter. The family goes in and out all day visiting and talking to the Chickens. They love the company...
Ok so no we are technichally not allowed to have them, but after much thought we are now the proud owners of three chickens. We will narrow down as we get older to two, one going to a friend. But was at Agway and fell in love with these babies.
Some movement, but no pips. I've been on top of the temp/humidity and days. A few spikes early on, but I have thinned the eggs out with candling and float test. I'm away tommorow due to unexpected death in family, and while my son is here I'm worried they have trouble and I won't be. How did...
This is my first time doing this so I'm looking for some guidance from some veterans. First the eggs are on an egg turner in an incubator will a fan, is it ok to move them into a lockdown incubator that has still air? Recomendations of heat/humidity? Also any first aid items and things to...
I gave my hubby a wonderful surprise gift, two incubators, a bunch of quail eggs, a coop and a trip to the 'Tractor Store' to buy supplies. His deceased father always kept birds and was one his special memories he always recalls. Now he can share it with his kids. (But guess who's off the...
Does anyone have as much difficulty as me candling quail eggs....I just see spots and splotches, can't tell sometimes if it's from inside or outside egg. Very frustrating. Wish I knew if these guys were viable. Any advice?
I'm wondering if anyone here has kept a duck as pet indoor/outdoor. My son is in the middle of a science experiment which includes chicken and duck eggs. We are not allowed in our township to have livestock, and already he is asking to keep one hatchling as a pet. We live in a lake community...
I ordered 24 quail eggs and ended up with 32. At first I worried I'd have to many but then i was told only between only between 40 to 70% hatch. I'm curious, how many eggs did you start with and how many hatched? Just satisfying my own curiosity while the days tick by waiting for our first...
Day nine, I found four eggs this morning that had cracks, two of which where circular. I don't think these were there yesterday. I am assuming it's too early for them to hatch, but need a second opinion. Should I remove them from incubator? Has anyone ever tried the elmers glue egg repair...
