Very interesting thread. My guess would be amberlinked are simply hybrids since hybrid birds tend to lay larger eggs. But since they're not sex linked, I think we have as much a shot at picking a roo as a pullet. I also wonder if my TSC incorrectly labeled the bin with amberlinks as sex linked...
Cute babies :) Perhaps the red is a gold sex link? I have two and one is redder than the other. And the white could be a Rhode Island White? I've got an adult and she is a lovely bird.
Ugh. I have two that look just like yours, white with the red on their wings. I got them from the pullet bin at TSC, but I guess they could have been sexed incorrectly. Waiting to hear a crow or get an egg!
I think the little black one is a black Old English Game Bantam? If you go to Ideal Poultry they have good pictures/drawings of baby chick breeds and colors.
I went a bit overboard at TSC and bought 15 new babies to love. Got one silky and several bantam cochins/brahmas, but I got several clean-legged bantams and I don't know what they are. Well, I know they're adorable but interested to see what they grow into.
