    Chicks coming next week - brooder question

    Hi, I have 16 chicks coming from Ideal next week, 8 Barred Rocks and 8 New Hampshire Reds. My brooder is 3 feet by 5 feet. It seems a little big. I was thinking about using a divider to reduce the size, then remove it as they grow. How much room do they need to begin with? John

    I Just Placed My First Order!! Now What Do I do?

    I didn't mean to make it sound like I had not done anything to prepare. I have read most of Storey's Guide to Raising Poultry. I have also lurked on this board for a while. With the order placed it is time to stop planning and start preparing. I hope this will be the fun part! John
