Do you know how old they are and how long they have been laying? I'm a newbie but I'm pretty sure that young pullets lay some funny tiny eggs until they get the whole thing down, practice makes perfect. My BO is a big girl, but lays smaller eggs then my BR who has been laying longer.
That should say "wimpy"lol. I have kind of a dumb question. I have a little BO/ Faverolle mix rooster that is about 17 weeks old, and the poor guy is scared to death of my ladies. For awhile he seemed to be bucking up a bit, he will hang out with some of the lower ranking girls, even danced for...
My Barred Rock, Betsy, just laid her first egg!! I'm a little surprised as she is only 18 1/2 weeks old! I'm thinking of making her a little gold crown! Lol, the other girls are green with envy I'm sure! She sang long and loud in the coop and then laid a tiny egg in the run. Lol
Lol I can't wait to hear my little guy crow!! I listen all day to my neighbor's rooster crow, you would think that would inspire at least a squeak from mine.
Last night my little roo was doing a little chicken dance, showing off his smooth moves. He leaped up and landed half on the side of a feeder and fell over. Sort of let the air out of his sails lol. Clean is good!
Chooks4life, lol I couldn't spell my way out of a paper bag, I'm completely dependent on auto correct so you will have to take it up with the good folks at Apple lol
My husband was defiantly from city stock and my family was all country bumpkins, when we were young I used to tell him how much I wished we could get a little place out in the country. He would say he would hate having to get up before the sun to "milk the chickens". Now we are retired and have...
Sumi, thank you for the great belly laugh! Now my DH knows for sure I have gone around the bend. Lol, I just hope my little guy doesn't try anything so bold! I would fear for his very life. I'm not even sure he can jump high enough to get on Big Burtha's back. But my poor little Betsy, the...
This is the first rooster I have owned, and I have never laughed at chickens so much in my life. I can all day sitting in the run, it's better then a sitcom.
Today my 7 week old roo made his first big boy step into the flock. He gets to be out with the girls all day in the run. He is speedy and I have provided excaped and hide spots and so far he had done a wonderful job of not making himself a target for our 7 teenage pullets. But today as I sat and...
My dad and I have a disagreement over whether my 7 week old Lavender Orpington Faverolles cross is going to lay me an egg or wake me up at 5 a.m. Need help from the pros.
