(FINISHED) New coop! FL, tin roof, bantam tractor, Christmas lights, pictures!

Yesterday, we started building our new coop! Its a 6x3 tractor with a slanted tin roof and coop with nesting boxes and a roost. So excited!! I have two OEGB and they have been making do in the "temp" tractor for about 2 months now. They seem to like it alright, no stress just some boredom...

Pair of OEGB hens, I think only one is laying...

I am pretty sure, like 75% sure, that only one of my ladies is laying. She is significantly larger and eats so much more, that I can't believe the little one is laying. Only one is laying, I get 3-4 eggs a week which I think is normal for bantams. Since the larger one eats so much more, she...

So excited, my first batch! I am a little concerned because I have to be at work until 6pm - 6 more hours. None had pipped as of 8am this morning but I'm worried still! Do you think they will be okay until I get home or should i go check at my lunch break?

    Quail Coop Questions

So I was planning on building a stationary, wire bottom, roofed coop off the ground as per the general consensus is that wire bottom = healthier birds. Does anyone use a tractor style coop for their quail? If so, is worming the only thing you need to worry about if you don't own any other birds?

    Happy Quail Babies

Well, I guess they are not technically babies anymore since they are crowing and such ... but anyways. I have fallen in LOVE with my quail - the personalities!! They just seem happy. I have never owned birds before but they look happy. Oh and I will no longer be reintroducing their hatch-mates...

    Questions about re-introducing chicks' siblings...

The friend I got my chicks from just got a job and has to move. Its a long drawn out story but short version is he cannot keep his birds. They have been in a brooder (room sized) in a separate pen than chickens and guineas but sharing airspace. If I were to 'rescue' his 2.5 week old quail...
