thanks for your response. There are cross (horizontal) 8 ft 2x4 connecting to posts to nail the vertical fence boards to. These are located 2 per side and cut to fit, Since I wrote this, I have now turned my 5 Zebra finches loose in this pen and hey are quite happy. The chickens barely notice...- Banty-Shanty

My silver duckwing Old English Bantam is also my favorite. I got her at the end of last summer and she is now laying about every other day.
