    worried abut my Lethargic hen.

Hi there sadly she didn't get any better. I carried on feeding her and kept her indoors unless it was nice and sunny then took her outside to try and get her to copy the other hens feeding this didn't work and she just gave up and died. I hope you have better luck..

It very much she looks like there's life in the old girl yet. Unfortunately I think she maybe blind! She's eating on her own if I put her mash nearby the trouble is she pecks above the food several tes before she finds it. If I put corn on the grass she scratches the grass but doesn't see...

Ok next question. Having only had liquid feeds and still ignoring the corn next to her why is she know eating the wood shavings used as her bedding? Even when I put the corn in front of her she eats the shavings either side it?

    Snow Chicken

Great snow chicken. It doesn't snow very often here but when it did last month it brought the island to a stand still for 2 days. wish I'd thought of a snow chick but to be honest I just loved the look of virgin snow in my garden. Can't say the same for my hens they didn't know what to make of...

    Hello from Guernsey

Thanks everybody for the welcome and acknowledging our loss. I will always remember J-P letting the hens out of their pen to let them run around in the garden because he didn't like them locked up and sitting with them hand feeding them corn. This was our introduction to owning our own hens...

    Hello from Guernsey

5 years ago we bought 6 hens which are a cross between Marans and Barnevelders. We got them for our 14yr old son to help him cope with life, sadly not long after we got the hens our lovely boy left us but his hens kept us focused. We still have 2 of the original hens, Esca because she always...
