WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO GET EGGS?

Feeding layers' pellets after about 8 weeks should be fine. I bought 9 Light Sussex pullets, 10 weeks old and they have been fed layers' pellets since I've had them, and they are coming on brilliantly! Nearly 25 weeks now and they are bigger than the Warrens! I also give Jack the rooster chick...

    Pullet or cockerel!?

Can I ask, how do you know he's a cockerel? Is it just by his looks? Because some hens can develop spurs, big combs and big wattles. My cockerel, Randy even sits in the nest boxes. I've also got a pullet with a very long tail who laid an egg the other day, so don't just base their sex on their...

Should I take the egg out?

How did you do it? I threw my chicken eggs into a puddle in a field. A fox'll eat them.

I want to buy an incubator!!

I want an incubator for my birthday and my aunties have agreed to club together to buy one. Ideally I need a medium sized automatic turning incubator for under £60. It should be in the UK to minimize postage expenses. Could somebody do some research and find me a nice one please?:-) I...

What kind of chicken and hen or rooster?

Looking closer, the feet are too small and it's missing the claw on its leg. Sorry!

Should I take the egg out?

Hmm, it really will stink. If you wrap it up tightly with clingfilm, then foil and make sure it doesn't crack then you should be fine. :)

Should I take the egg out?

Yes. It is definitely dead and will stink. Your best bet is to burn it on a bonfire or on the log burner. Don't use a cooker.
