You Can Sex a Chicken Egg?

I thank you all for this thread. I too have found information regarding this theory and have been wondering. I found a few other threads regarding this and am hoping it works as I really don't want all roosters from the 4 eggs I put under a hen... even 75% pullets would be ok...

Minorca-like breed with Blue, Green and Olive eggs?

Yes Old Rando, I did read it and even found another forum with a thread where someone was trying to create this same cross. They also discussed the dominant traits and suggested what the resulting bird would look like, which sounded more like mine were... Blue Andalusian with Rose or Pea comb...

Minorca-like breed with Blue, Green and Olive eggs?

Hey all, Growing up, I had a friend whose dad raised chickens. I too raised chickens and when He told me they had some "Wild" chickens on their 5 acre property that laid "multi-colored" eggs, I couldn't wait to see them. He said his dad bought a pair and they got loose and they just kept...

    What happened to this Egg?

Got our second egg this morning. It was sitting on the ground and was broken open. It had a Leathery shell like a reptile egg. No hard shell at all. But that must have been from one of the other hens. And a Third was sitting on a shelf trying to lay there so I picked her up and placed her...

    What happened to this Egg?

Thanks All, I won't worry about it too much then. I'll just wait and see what happens. The yard actually has Crushed shell (not the normal sand stuff) that is used as a ground cover... Maybe that's not small or soft enough. I'll get some crushed Oyster shell too. To chickengeorgeto - When...

    Hey All... New here!

We got our first egg today... not the prettiest thing, but our first. We got our five Rhode Island Reds about a month ago but one had a cold that spread to all of them. Antibiotics cleared it up though. I had chickens growing up and missed them. But I have people now telling me I can not add...

    What happened to this Egg?

Hey Everyone! My first post. We got our first 5 Chickens about a month ago and were told they should start laying in a week or two. One was already sitting on 3 eggs and the guy we got them from said they should hatch in 18-19 days and 19 days later we had 1 chick hatch. Unfortunately, the...
