I have about 40 hens and they are released in the afternoon to free range after most have laid for the day but lately they're breaking and eating anywhere from 4-6 eggs each day maybe more that's how many shells I find in the nestboxes, the problem is I don't know which ones are doing it...

What can be done to prevent Hawks from getting my chickens? I heard something about using a owl decoy to scare them away does this work? any ideas?? Thanks Bertie

I have several brown egg laying hens and my rooster is a white egg breed so if I hatch these eggs what color eggs will the chicks lay when they start laying? Lighter brown or white and both? Thanks Bertie
