Curious if anyone else has attempted this cross, and the results from it.
Below is a pick of one of my flocks. There are 2 RIRs, and 3 unknown breed hens, plus the leghorn roo. Any ideas or comments regarding potential offspring from this group in general?
I currently have 3 separate flocks. I have several mixed breed mutts, and a few pure breeds (though definitely not show quality). There are a few hens I am unsure of, so I want to post pictures here & see if anyone can help me out. I'll add pictures in separate posts.
Thanks in advance!
I posted this somewhere else, and was told to try it here...
I live in NWGA, where we don't get many nights that get below freezing, and when they do, usually not below 20 degrees. During the cold season I've been bringing in my four 1-gal waterers inside at night. I wash them and then fill...

My chickens are about 7 months old. A couple of weeks ago I noticed one of my hens had a large breast that hung down. I didn't think anything of it at first, I thought she was just a little overweight. I'm a newbie, so I didn't think it was serious. Anyway, I finally called a fellow...

Hi everyone. My current flock has 4 game hens, 3 of which I think are game mixes. I'm also about to get a game rooster & a few more game hens, which will be completely free range.
I don't know much about game hens, except they are very broody, good mothers, very protective, and...
I need a little advice here. Just picked up my flock on Saturday. 2 of my "hens" might be roosters. The breeder told me I could bring them back and switch them out for hens if they turned out to be roos.
The breeder said all of their chickens were mixes of the following, with a few being pure...
Hi everyone!
I've been living in the country for the last few years, but I am new to raising chickens. I bought my first house in August of 2012, and ever since, I've been looking forward to getting my own backyard flock! I've found this site to be an excellent resource for getting myself...
