    Rooster behavior

Hey Fluffychicky, Well, I had 7 hens and 2 roos. they had all been raised together and everyone was happy, until the roos got to be about 4 months old. Then i started noticing one being more dominate over the other and picking small fights. Also with the boys reaching teenager stage they would...

    Rooster behavior

I have TWO young roo's (4months old) and they are doing this same thing. They are tag teaming my hens and it's a brutal sight!! I think I am going to rehome both of them asap. If I could only find someone who wants a roo!

What a great story!! I loved reading it. I hate that you lost some of your flock to dogs. I have to young Pit Bulls and I let them go up to the coop and run around outside the coop for morning feedings. The chickens are scared of the dogs (looking at them via fence) and the dogs sit and watch me...

    Hi! New Member, Longtime Lurker!

Great pics and !! Your girls look so tame and happy! Mine are shy I wish I could get them to let me hold them like that without it being a big hassle of me trying to catch them. Your coop is great!

    Why are my hens fighting?

I have the same problem as well. I have have introduced three new hens all different breeds to an already established but still young (3 months) flock. One of the new hens is a Leghorn and has stood up for herself quite well. The other two a Sussex and a Dark Brahma are at the bottom of the...

Review by '' on item 'Happy Hen Treats Mealworm Frenzy 3.5 oz Bag'

I started this little habit of giving them these meal worms as treats so that I could get the flock more tame. They love them so much I can pet them while they eat. I have spoiled them though and they expect to be fed them at least once a day. So this has become quite expensive!! I am learning...

Nice looking flock! I just recently added a dark Brahma to my mixed flock along with a Leghorn and a Sussex. The poor Brahma is at the bottom of the pecking order. I feel so bad for her because she is so shy and sweet.

    Leghorns Gender?

Thank you! This means I get to keep them! Yay!I already have Two Roo Aulstralops and that's more than I need as it is. I bought one hen who is a little older and introduced her to the flock. She laid one egg and stopped I'm guessing she's just stressed. The others aren't old enough to lay...
