My 4 1/2 old RI Red didn't return to coop tonight so I went out to look for her. Found her in a bush with 15 eggs. 15 eggs at 4 1/2 months.

I just went outside and discovered by Golden Wynadote on the ground of the run dead. There was no sign of illness. I just examined her whole body, and do not see any injuries. I'm freaking out. Anyone have any idea what could have happened. She is 5 months old.

I went to a flea market today because I was looking for a good deal on some trees. There were people selling chickens and I was absolutely horrified at the condition. They were all crammed in little cages together. Most were panting from the heat and some were all loosing their feathers and...

I dug a little hole in the dirt (one shovel full) and sprinkled a little sand in it. My Buff Orpingtons love this hole. They squeeze into it together and just lay there... and also take sand baths in it together while kicking each other for room.
