    Looking to start raising quail

Speaking from experience, the Bobwhites are more wild. The Coturnix can be quite tame and generally lay eggs more consistently. I've never raised cali's but I've read they need lots of space.

    Indoor Quail in small area

James marie , Vails Quail or post a wanted ad on this site. Also Google quail breeder near your town or even check Craig's List. I was surprised how many quail breeders there were near me in Central PA. Most just smaller backyard breeders like myself. I'd start with Coturnix so you can eat...

reposting, desperate for advise and help!

Hi, it sounds like you're doing everything you can. I'd keep dipping beaks in water so they stay hydrated and the same with food. Keep them warm but not too hot. If they're panting they're too hot. I hope they recover.

    Giving PolyViSol to ailing quail

Hi, you put the vitamin drops in the water but I'm not really sure how much. I usually just put organic apple cider vinegar (with mother) in every waterer and I add some honey if they are not too peppy or it's really hot out. Good luck

    Injured Quail

I would use a spray bottle with very warm salt water. They like this once they get used to it. Just make sure the bird is dry and warm so it doesn't catch a chill.

    limping and long beak

Oh the poor thing. She will probably bounce back fast. Separate her first of all and keep food and water close. I had a hen in a terrible fight with a roo, I didn't thnk she would live but in a few days she looked like it never even happened.

    What did I DO?!?

Some people just use the big plastic tubs with the lids. They cut out a big section of the lid and duct tape on some wire, put a heat lamp on and you're done.

    Cali quail keep dying

That's great! I'm wondering if maybe they shouldn't be mixed in with chickens and pheasants as I've heard they can have "bugs" that will harm quail. Glad things are going better. I'm interested in trying Cali quail myself so I appreciate all the info here.
