    hello, i have 14 girls,but only 2 eggs a day on average,i clean the house fully every morning and afternoon,and the girls are well fed and are all happy,i collect eggs as they are layed,but was wondering,should i leave them in the house to encourage them to lay more,or does this not work any...

    :(thanks for the advice all,i introduced them straight away,and there was a couple of days squabbling,but they are now all snuggling in together at night and all really chilled,happy and very friendly,but alas hardly any eggs off 14 girls:(,could it be the time of year or am i doing something...

    i have the same worry,i have 5 girls that i got last october,and used to get 2,3 or on the odd occasion 4 eggs(xmas day and boxing day only),and then i introduced 9 new girls on 7th feb,and had 10 eggs on day one ,and then its all been downhill from there,and we now struggle to get an egg at all...

    thanks for the replies,the girls are all 18 months but i must admit,they are on corn only,so i will get pellets tomorrow,also we have an allotmen so have a never ending supply of veg,should we moderate the amount we give them or should we just keep giving them as much as they will eat thank...

    i have 6 girls since 15th oct 2008 and am getting 6 more battery hens on 7th feb,any advice please on the best and least stressful way to introduce the new girls,i dont really want to seperate them
