    Coop floor suggestions?

Jack, could you tell me how long it takes for the coating to dry? I had vinyl in my coop but as others have said, it didn't last long. So I plan to use the roof coat on the floors and possibly poop board. But I need the hens to be able to get back into the house at night. Thanks for any help...

Need help choosing a Rooster for my flock

I love the pea comb of the Easter Egger or Ameraucana. That was one of the pros I was tossing around too! Thank you so much for your help. I think I will be looking for some Easter Egger or Ameraucana eggs as it gets a little warmer. :)

Let the adventure begin!!! Building a coop

You bring up some good points, but I am very confident with this particular hatchery. The started pullets from this hatchery don't have their beaks clipped and get to do some free ranging while at the hatchery. I am so excited to start getting some eggs so this seemed like a great "jump...

Let the adventure begin!!! Building a coop

I am so very excited! I finally talked my husband into letting me have some chickens in our back yard. I had two chicken coops about 10 years ago and loved having chickens and getting fresh eggs. Yesterday I ordered 12 started pullets from Murray McMurray Hatchery. They will be between 15...

Chicken Coop.... Bottom of Run Area

In my experience the answer is...it kind of depends. If you will be locking your chickens in the coop overnight then the need to add something to the bottom of the run area is less important. However, chickens do like to scratch around and it is possible that they could scratch a lower area in...
