thanks, I will give that a try. should they have food and water in there coop at all times after they learn it's home or can i keep the food and water outside?

i recently purchased six chickens and built a coop for them but now that the coop is finished they will not go inside at night. the chickens are still sleeping outside on the ground. i put there food inside the coop and they will go in only to eat. what should i do different, or is this normal.
