I'm trying to better understand the dynamics of my flock to make sure they're all as least stressed as possible. At the moment i'm having some problems with a drake that is bullying some of the girls.
A couple of weeks ago I sold 2 of my drakes in an effort to improve the quality of living for...
Unfortunately the only chick she managed to hatch died this morning, will she continue to stay broody or will she return to normal. It's possible for us to get some new chicks for her but not for a few days, would she even accept new chicks at this stage (The chick was about 4 days old). I would...
I will keep an eye on the situation and keep checking the little ones are fine. Fortunately we have a good female/male ratio now we have removed some males so I don't think she would get chased endlessly. In general the little guys will be quite far away from everyone else, and a few of the...
Thanks for your advice, we've changed things around and sold some of the males as we had too many anyway, much quieter now and she's not getting bothered anymore. I do have another question related to duck mating though.
We have a pair of bantam ducks (male and female), we weren't aware they...
I know the hybrid will be infertile and so breeding wouldn't work, but i'm wondering whether the male ducks i have will try to breed with the female hybrids I have anyway. The reason I ask is because it would mean my other ducks don't get over mated. I have a few ducks growing up but at the...
I took a few more photos trying to get a full body shot but they seem to look the same in every photo, they're fluffy and small so it's hard to even see they have feathered legs even when standing.
I think you might be right that it's a partridge cochin, they look very similar...
They have feathered legs so it would be hard to get a good shot of the legs, i think the one on the left is standing actually, they're quite small. Just looked up wellsummers and i dont think they are them.
Thanks for your help :)
It's nice that they're all different breeds, it's an interesting little group. Are there any you're more unsure of? I could put up some more pictures of individual ones tomorrow if it would help.
I have read the duckling sticky and we are keeping them as best we can...
Hey guys I have recently acquired some ducklings and do not possess the capabilities to identify what breed or breeds they are. Can someone with more experience help me?
Here are some pictures: http://www.imgur.com/a/DskKA
Thank you for your help I can take more pictures if needed, 2 of...
Thank you for your help.
We actually have 7 of them (not all pictured) but they all look very similar. I think I will take a better photo of each one tomorrow as there are some differences between them (e.g. some have more a pinkish comb). It would be a shame if they were all roosters, they are...
Hey guys i'm having some trouble identifying the sex of my new bantams, we were told they were 6 weeks old when we got them nearly 2 weeks ago. We're not really sure what to look for to tell them apart and could use some help.
