Hi Everyone, Do any of you have any experience with a pesticide company spraying your chickens? They came to our house in error and sprayed all my organic yard, organic gardens and herbs and our chickens. Then we found out they have been overspraying into my yard behind my chicken coop for a...
so I got some chicks 2 weeks ago. I know my hens can hear them as they are in the little coop next to theirs. All of a sudden I have a Broody Hen. I know lots of people sneak Day old chicks under a Broody Hen at night. Since they are older what are the chances this Broody could be moved to...
A couple of days ago I noticed my oldest hen , a white leghorn who is 4 , has a very droopy comb and it looks like it is shriveling up. I haven't been able to catch her to examine her yet. It's not getting better. Obviously not normal but what else should I be looking for? Thanks
Anyone ever do this? I have a Broody chicken and 6 baby turkeys coming tomorrow. If I put her in the baby coop tonight with some fake eggs and change out the eggs tomorrow night will she raise them or kill them? Everyone says she will mother them but I am nervous if she kills them here's 6...
My Turkeys have 2 weeks left before they go for their " Hair Cuts " do any of you use " Game and Turkey Finisher and Maintenance Feed " or do you continue feeding their regular grower feed ? I was told at one time to use the Game and Turkey Finisher and Maintenance Feed only if I wanted them to...
I am looking for a name for my new coop. It will have this window in it. It reminds me of a church so I would like some religious type name. Do you have any idea? Thanks
I had a sick chicken ( Kera) that a brought into the house back in January. I am working on reintegrating her back into the coop. Today she was outside for the first time and 2 different chickens who always seemed docile jumped her and attacked her neck. I was ready and broke them up quickly...
Just wanted to share that my RIR that was on Deaths door with a Red Swollen Belly has finally come back and is being acclimated to the cold so she can go back into the coop [/IMG][/IMG]
I have a 1 yr old White Leghorn Hen that stopped laying a week or so ago. I thought she was Broody because of the NH weather changes. Then her Comb got droopy and she had greenish poop stuck to her butt. I washed it all off twice now and she wasn't clogged up. No lumps in her throat / crop...

In the Spring I was given a Coop that belonged to a Friend of Mine's Father who passed away a few years ago. They were excited to see this coop would be used again. It was solid but very ugly. I placed some ads on my Freecycle group sight searching for Roofing, Siding and Window Materials. I did...
My Ornamental Bantam born in March was laying an egg everyday for about a month then went broody. I got her out of being broody and she laid 2 eggs then stopped laying but isn't broody.. She hasn't laid an egg all month. Will she start again? SHe seems normal is all other respects except no eggs.
I am wondering if anyone has experience using a dog door so the chickens can go in and out of the coop during the winter without having to leave a door open and letting in all the cold NH winter weather ? The door does lead to a secure outside pen made with hardware cloth that a mouse can't even...
my grandson was practicing both soccer and baseball and when I went to take his picture Reba his favorite chicken ran into the picture. It was so funny.
