Hello! The catbirds have a nest in an azalea. The hens enjoy poking about under that azalea. When the baby birds fledge the nest my concern is the hens will kill them. Anyone have an experience with fledglings and their hens? Hoping for some good news!!! TIA.
I wonder if a church would allow us to put in a chicken hutch/run? There is the one community garden at a church. Curious if chickens could be a part of that, if there is one acre...
I actually made a trade a couple of days ago, we needed her out ASAP. I appreciate your offer though! Wish I could take more but we have a small space for them and don't want to crowd them. Love the names ;)
I was just out there for a soccer tournament and I love to shop out there at Oasis and Miller's. I would love to come out soon and exchange. What days/times are typically good for you? Would you meet me at a shopping center? Thank you!
Hi there, so we have two layers. One is peaceful and clucks quietly while the other is as vocal as a rooster! The quiet one is all white with feathers on her feet. The vocal one I think is a Barred Rock and will be 1 in July. I would like a simple trade, hen for a hen. I can drive out to you...
Any progress with this? I am in Ridley Park, not sure if that means the rules are different. We have two hens, cooped up against the house. We spoke with our neighbors before we got the chickens, the neighbors do not care. So I am curious what the status is, anyone still around?
We had another roo, Tiny, looked similar to Drumstick but smaller and more distinct feather colors. He too has a free range happy mountain home now. They both are cool chickens.
Sadly no way because we are not allowed to have chickens period. I have a place for them to live where they are allowed to roam the property. I just love him so, he is so cute and makes the cutest peeps. Oh well, thank you for the answer!
Below is my favorite chick, I had to nurse him back to health after the larger chicks injured his leg. I am attached and he is sweet. I am hoping you all tell me this roo is a pullet. I want to be wrong!
Below is a chick we hatched and he is a jerk. So I could care less that he is a roo. He...
Hen Senora is. Cool because we hatched her. I still have one more little one, Drumstick, who I adore. Will get her head shots up soon ;) Thank you for your help.
Thank you for your feedback. I figured Tiny is a rooster.
Now for Senora Sandy Pickles, a vote for male a vote for female so here is another pic and maybe someone else can break the tie.
If a photo of a specific region will better help determine the sex of this chick, let me know so I can...
More of Tiny who is still really small!
Tiny has a bright comb and cheek thingies.
He does not like to be handled or touched. Very rambunctious and energetic.
Roo or pullet?
Hi there, first time poster and hatcher. Here are pics of our chicks, well most of them, one chicken seems to have stunted growth and bad legs but she is still spunky, she is my favorite. Anyways, here they are. If you can tell me what kind of chicken and sex that would be great!
This is...
