I have a hard time keeping em still for photo sesions. Lol. I was thinking cockerals too tho. So i bought 7 jubilees. From the 7, 3 are blue/black marans orpington cross, boys. 3 jubilee boys. And only 1 pullet that i can only hope isnt a cross. She doesnt have very much white at all. Almost...
I also noticed today that one of the cross boys has feathers on his legs. I think it is confimed. Maran roo with a jubilee hen. She also sold me all 6 boys. Im furious beyond comprehension. Never would i ever do something like this to anyone.
The french marans have leg feathers but some american breeds do not. But with the white legs they could have taken the orpington trate on leg feathers too. I agree it does explain the colors and pattern. Just wish i had a girl that looked like them too. Maybe ill try to breed some in at some point.
So i just found out that the breeder has blue black copper marans as well as the jubilees. Think a maran roo got to one of the jubilee girls? Does the color genetics fit?
Yes. You are right. Id have to build another coop to keep away from my jubilees if i kept em. Wish i had some cool looking girls to project cross them with.
I did ask her. I bought 7 chicks straight run that was supposed to be all jubilee orpingtons. Clearly 3 of the are not. They all looked alike as week old chicks. The seller claims they are not from her but they are.
I have 3 birds 9 weeks old that I got with my jubilee orpingtons. Can anyone help me identify this breed? Below is a pic of a boy and a pic of a girl. Red/blue splash? Idk.
I bought 7 chicks from a local breeder. They were supposed to be jubilee orpingtons. But, 3 of them are not. The breeder will not tell me what they are. At 9 weeks old, can anyone help me figure out what breed these are? The pics below are of a pullet and a cockerel i believe.
I got 2 cockerels and a pullet from a local breeder. They were supposed to be jubilee orpington. But clearly they are not. The breeder wont tell me what they are as she denies them as being of the 7 she sold me. Can anyone please help me identify this breed? One pic is a pullet the other is a...
