Hey, Janine. You know, many times, Mamas know things that others don't. If you have any doubts, you can always put it in someone's incubator, but I think I would trust her judgment. It's up to you! Chanda

Any chance it's your thermometer?? I have a Little Giant, and once it's set, it usually stays. Could it be that you have it in a drafty location (or one that's in the sun part of the day or possibly exposed to a ceiling fan that's only on part of the time)? My next thought was that it could...

SURE you can--just consider that you'll probably need to brood them separately as older chicks will sometimes pick on the younger ones...literally! Make sure you have enough waterers! Have fun! Chanda

I've never had ANY problems with cedar in a bird pen, and I cut limbs for mine to "play" in and around. PLUS, the rabbits LOVE the nutrients they get from the bark. You KNOW, I wonder if your friend would be okay with, say, 2 rabbits as penmates?? They could help keep the cedar leaves...

Update (kinda late)--I ended up with one MF hatching out, and it died shortly afterward. None of the others hatched or even pipped. When I candled them after allowing them to stay in the bator for about 5 more days, there was no movement. They seem to have died in the shell. Chanda
