    Duck eye infection help

Ok duck folks..... I took on a special needs type duck this last winter. He has never been able to properly oil himself. I am hoping this summers molt will help but he has always looked a mess. Now he is wheezing a little and his left eye looks infected. I removed the junk off his eye and his...

    HELP! Adult duck not walking.

Turns out he had a fatal back injury that was causing paralysis. His heart rate was slowing by the time we got him to the vet and he was put down.

    HELP! Adult duck not walking.

We have him on flock raiser and have fed him meal worms. I have only had him in my care for five days. I think he was eating mostly bread from park goers. I'm beginning to wonder if it is botulism?

    HELP! Adult duck not walking.

We saved this duck from a lake where he was dumped. One of his wings was clipped to keep him from flying so we thought he injured his left foot trying to evade something. After a couple of days of resting in a safe area at my place he is now dragging his right food behind him as well and won't...

For sure I get it. When our mallard got bumble we had a heck of a time figuring out what it was.

    Muscovy injured ankle?

I'm fairly familiar with bumble and his feet seem fairly clear. I'll look into the t-relief though. The checking for parasites is a good idea too. Thanks!

    Muscovy injured ankle?

I just took in a duck that was dumped at a lake with a clipped wing. I think because he couldn't get away properly he might have tangled his foot somehow. I don't see anything broken and it all moves ok but he won't put weight on his foot and hobbles around pretty bad. Is there anything I can do...

    my disabled duck won't eat!

I haven't been on here for awhile and right after I was a bit upset and didn't want to come on here. Our boy didn't make it. He lived a happy healthy year with us and we are ok with that. We still have three ducks and are gaining three more here pretty soon. Thanks for all the help.

I have been working with a rescue that recently took in 25 ducks from a neglect case. As the only two people who had ducks my wife and I have been dubbed "the duck girls" and have stepped in to help make sure they are healthy and ready for their forever homes. In this group is a ton of Muscovy...

I'm a responsible pet parent and I know when to make those decisions. Up until now he has been perfectly healthy. My request is to help keep him that way. If there is no option obviously I'll consider what is best

    my disabled duck won't eat!

I have a crested mallard who can't walk. A cat came in our yard and he flapped himself away but the cat didn't touch him. About a day after that he became lethargic and won't eat. He barely drinks. How can I keep him nourished? He is our baby and we are scared he won't make it.

Smallish swollen bump on mallard foot

We couldn't find clear iodine but we have been soaking her foot and then using antibiotic ointment. Tonight we were actually able to get some of it out! We are excited that she should be getting better soon. Thanks everyone for the solid advice!

Smallish swollen bump on mallard foot

I have a female Mallard that started limping a few days ago. I looked at her foot and saw nothing. Last night I checked again and saw on the bottom of her foot the middle toe has a bump on it. It looks like a blister would or a big pimple. It is soft and swollen. Any advice? I'll try to get a...

I am having a hard time finding a list of cities I can move to that allow me to keep my ducks. One is disabled and no one will really take him in. I have a female we can find a farm for but that leaves him alone and they have been together since they were days old. I know Stayton Oregon will...
