My Barred Rock is small compared to the other chickens, but she still holds her own. She never bosses the other chickens around though, so that's good.
Yeah, they're pretty nice, I have a barred rock hen who's relatively small compared to the others, but she gets along with them and will still occasionally lay during the winter. Here's a picture
Also, I tried to put bins of sand in the run for the chickens to take sand baths in, but the chickens didn't seem to want to go in them. The bins are 2-3 inches high, about 8 inches wide, and about a foot long, and I'm wondering whether the issue is the sand or the bins.
Today when I was looking at my chickens, I noticed that one of their combs were bleeding. I think that one of the horns had been removed. I took her inside and sprayed bactine on the wound. What else should I do?
